Junior Dolphin Care Program

  • A Certificate will be earned upon successful completion of program
  • Topics will include, but are not limited to
    • General Marine Mammal Anatomy and Physiology
    • Training Basics
    • Importance of Proper Husbandry Care
    • Human Impact on Wild Population
  • Student participation will include, but is not limited to
    • Assisting with morning husbandry session
    • Preparation of diets and proper maintenance of animal areas
    • Assisting Veterinary team with basic medical procedures
    • Training Sessions
  • Students will give a presentation at the end of the course.
  • Only two students will be accepted per 2 week course. Course is open to middle and high school students. 
    • Students should be
      • comfortable in and around water
      • comfortable handling fish
      • able to lift and carry 20#
    • Students should expect to be on premises for no fewer than 25h per week.
    • All participants under 18 years will need approval of legal guardian prior to start of program
    • Grants may be available for students unable to afford entire program costs.
