Meet Our Dolphins

A Tribute to Fonzie, 1976 – March 11, 2004

Squirt

Beautiful and full of fun. A motherly dolphin who loves children and is extremely gentle. Squirt is extremely loving to all. She has three small niches in the back of her dorsal fin. She also has an extremely short rostrum. Squirt is approximately 7.5 feet long, 550 lbs.

Squirt gave birth to a baby boy, Fiji, on June 25, 2004. Fiji, was Squirt’s first calf. More recently, she gave birth to a baby girl, Lotus, on August 27, 2008.

Sarah

Our Gucci girl. Curious and a very wonderful, intelligent dolphin. Enjoys new and different things. Sarah loves working in the therapy program!

Sarah is a beautiful, “princess” dolphin, who is completely aware of this fact. She knows what she wants, when she wants it, and how to get it. Sarah’s beauty captivates all the men around her. She is the proud mother of Bella and Grace.

Bella

Born November 3, 2000. Daughter of Sarah and Fonzie. Adorable and loves to get into mischief. Bella is the dolphin who gives 110%. She likes to jump the highest, swim the fastest and talk the loudest. Her unique pink coloration makes her stand out from the crowd, but don’t let the pink fool you, she is a definite tomboy.

Fiji

Born on June 25, 2004. Fiji is very curious about his environment. He loves playing with sea beans and sea grass. Fiji is already showing great interest in the kids and all that is going on during the therapy sessions. Fiji is the son of Fonzie and Squirt.

Grace

A female Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin. She was born on July 11, 2008 and is the daughter of Sarah and LB. She is a prodigy child! At only six months old, she began eating fish at the dock and interacting with people. Like her mother, Grace is beautiful and has petite features.

Lotus

A female Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin. She was born on August 27, 2008 and is the daughter of Squirt and Bob. She is an extremely playful and curious little one. At only five months old, Lotus was already popping up at the dock for fish and showing interest in her mom’s work.

Honey

Honey was rescued from a shelter in Miami. Since 2008, she has been a member of “Love on a Leash”, the foundation for pet therapy as a Certified Therapy Dog. Honey loves to participate in classroom sessions with the children of Island Dolphin Care.
