Message from the Director |

Once upon a time, a tiny frog fell into a giant bowl of cream. Unable to get out, the little fella kept kicking, kicking, kicking until finally the cream turned to butter, and he was able to jump to safety.
This is us. We are the frog. We can either give up hope when faced with impossible challenges, or we can kick, kick, kick until the challenge turns to blessings ~
Well we have kicked and kicked and we are still kicking but also making the butter!
What a wonderful season we have had with the addition of Dr. Jack, Physical therapy, massage therapy, Occupational therapy, music therapy, yoga, and all of the workshops we are sure busy making butter!
Thank you to all who help us to help the children and families that come to our programs!
You make it possible!
If you have not visited us lately it's time to stop by and check out all that is new-
We now have a beautiful cheekee hut donated by Jim Saunders from Bayview Homes in Key Largo- Jim stopped by during the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce Members in Motion event in April. He was so impressed with our programs that when he heard about our Wednesday family picnics, marine science programs and camp activities, he quickly saw the need for Island Dolphin Care to have more shaded areas outside! He immediately sent his crews to begin –It is a beautiful and comfortable area now!
I have included some photos of our newest staff member “Honey Dog”. Enjoy the slideshow! Honey was adopted this June through Marrvelous Pet Rescues – an animal rescue organization in Key Largo. Honey actually came to meet one of our staff and when she walked into the building she also walked into our hearts! She is just 6 months old and already learning how to be a wonderful companion to the children and a terrific addition to our therapy program. If you are interested in a companion dog for your family send me an e-mail as Marrvelous Pet Rescues may be able to help! The web site for this wonderful organization is www.marrvelouspetrescues.org . Please click on “Honey” and see her photos! Also note that there is a service dog group in Germany, Tiere helfen Menschen. You can find more information on this organization by visiting www.thmev.de or emailing info@thmev.de .
This week the yellow bus is back in town! The school bells are ringing. Remember the story about the little frog – kick and keep kicking to make the butter!
As always let us help in any way that we can!
Make your reservations now for 2008 season as we are already getting busy!
Laugh more –celebrate the moment-
Make butter!
